Parasitology
AHVLA Scientific offers a specialist parasitology testing service to private veterinary surgeons and other customers.
Our specialist teams perform tests on farmed animal samples submitted to AHVLA. Many of the tests are accredited to ISO 17025 and cover a range of parasites from various animal species.
Samples should be sent direct to the designated AHVLA testing unit, details of which can be found in the AHVLA Scientific Tests Price List. This will help to maintain the quality of the sample and speed of reporting. Results will usually be returned via the nearest AHVLA Regional Laboratory where interpretation and follow-up support will be available if required.

AHVLA also offers a range of tests for purposes outside those listed above. These include:
- Submissions not appropriate for UK disease surveillance purposes.
- Tests on samples from companion animals.
- Animals outside the UK at the time of sampling.
