National Mastitis Group (NMG)
The NMG provides a forum for organisations involved in the diagnosis, surveillance and control of mastitis and the production of high quality milk supplies. Although the group remains informal, its broad stakeholder membership provides a consensus capable of influencing Government and Industry policy in this area.
Role of the group
- Provides a forum for regular communication between interested parties in the field of mastitis.
- Discusses developments in mastitis epidemiology, control methods, therapeutics and disease surveillance.
- Communicates any issues identified to the appropriate industry or government body.
- Periodically reviews membership to ensure appropriate stakeholders are represented.
- Ensures that mastitis retains a high profile.
Membership
The NMG membership (pdf 7kb) is drawn from a number of organisations including farmers, research institutes, pharmaceutical, veterinary and Government bodies. The Veterinary Laboratories Agency provides a secretariat function.
NMG meetings & minutes
