Further info about the VLA Biological Archive
VLA Biological Archive's review process
- The request is reviewed to ensure our fullest
understanding of your requirements.
- Requests for rare or limited material are submitted quarterly to the IAAG to review and consider for release based on the
quality of scientific approach and impact on stock
levels.
- Please ensure as much background information and
scientific support as possible is included with your
application, as the IAAG will review this when
making their decision.
- All recipients are charged for delivery and
packing. Commercial companies and institutes not
operating under UK government funding will be
charged for supply of TSE materials. Further details of charges will be provided
once we have received your request.
- If the request is approved, a Statement of
Requirement (SOR) document is issued by the Archive.
This details the offer of
supply. Please note: the offer may
not exactly match your original
request.
- Only at this stage will we be able to
discuss delivery dates, as to do so before
may raise false expectations. Any delivery
times will be subject to prioritisation of
requests, usually on a "first come,
first served" basis, but other matters
may be considered.
- All recipients will be required to sign a
Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) before the
release of samples.
