AHVLA and BPEX will be sponsoring a series of regional Salmonella Control Workshops to be held early in November 2011. These workshops will be of interest to veterinary surgeons involved in caring for the health, well-being and welfare of pigs, irrespective of the size of the enterprise.
The dates and venues are as follows:
| Tuesday 8 November | Tickton Grange Hotel, Tickton, Beverley, E. Yorks. |
| Wednesday 9 November | Lyncombe Lodge Hotel, Churchill, Somerset |
| Thursday 10 November | Marriot Sprowston Manor, Norwich, Norfolk |
The agenda will be identical for all three afternoon meetings, with keynote speakers from industry, private practice, Defra and AHVLA. The meetings will begin with lunch and will include a short series of informative presentations on issues surrounding on-farm Salmonella control and forthcoming legislation followed by an interactive workshop on Control Plan preparation.
Invitations giving more details of the speakers and format of the meetings, and including a registration form for return to AHVLA, will be circulated to veterinary practices. Please note that early registration is advisable as numbers will be limited. If your practice has not received an invitation by the end of September, please contact Pig Salmonella support team.
